What is West Sussex Digital?

West Sussex Digital is the licence holder for the new South West Sussex small-scale DAB digital radio service.

Unlike analogue radio, DAB digital radio allows multiple stations to be broadcast together on a single transmission network, known as a multiplex. West Sussex Digital will not operate a radio station itself. Instead, we will provide the platform and broadcast technology that allows radio services, including those from our consortium members, to be carried across the area.

Our role is to support stations, maintain reliable transmission, and help bring a wider range of radio services to listeners across South West Sussex.

What’s in it for me?

More stations. More genres. More choice.

West Sussex Digital will make it possible for more services to be heard across the area, including local, specialist, community and niche stations that may not otherwise be available on traditional radio. That means more local voices, more relevant information, and a broader range of programming for listeners in South West Sussex.

In short, it gives listeners more of what matters to them, closer to home.

What’s different about West Sussex Digital?

West Sussex Digital is genuinely local.

Our consortium brings together community, charity and commercial broadcasters based in West Sussex. By working together, we aim to build a digital radio platform that reflects the area it serves and supports a richer, more relevant listening experience for local people.
